What's on in my area?

Each local Age UK has its own unique timetable of clubs and classes – what runs at one Age UK will be different to a neighbouring one. Examples include:

  • Arts & Crafts
  • Bridge group
  • Coffee mornings
  • Friendship clubs
  • Men in Sheds
  • Photography club
  • Pub lunch
  • Quizzes
  • Tea dance

You may need to book a place in the class and you will usually pay a small amount to take part.

Day Centres

If you’re looking for companionship and need extra care, day centres offer social activities, hot meals and much more.

Why take up a social activity?

  • They can help us to maintain social connections and reduce feelings of loneliness
  • It’s a great way to learn a new skill or revisit a hobby you used to enjoy
  • Taking part in social activities is shown to help us to stay sharp in later life
